What is conversion rate optimization (CRO)?

Many business leaders and marketers think that to get more revenue, only one thing is needed: even more visitors. Therefore, they pour more and more money into Facebook and Google Ads. However, there is a much cheaper and more effective method that utilizes your existing traffic. This is none other than conversion rate optimization (CRO).
What exactly does conversion mean? Conversion is the moment when a visitor becomes a specific customer (or lead, newsletter subscriber). And the conversion rate shows how many out of, say, 100 visitors take this desired step. Suppose this rate is currently 1% for you. This means that out of 1000 visitors, you will have 10 customers. If you manage to increase this rate to 2% by fine-tuning your website, you have already doubled your revenue! All this without spending a single penny more from your advertising budget.
How do we do CRO in practice?
- We drastically speed up the site: Every extra second of loading time is proven to significantly worsen conversion. People simply don't like to wait and close the tab.
- Clean, UX-focused design: On the web, less is often really more. The visitor must understand in 3 seconds whether they are in the right place and what they need to do. There are no distracting, flashing elements.
- Clear CTA (Call-to-Action) buttons: Highly visible, visually highlighted buttons are needed that encourage clear and specific action (for example, instead of a simple "Send", "I request a free quote").
Don't always just want to struggle with increasing traffic! Instead, get the most out of your already existing visitors with a consciously built, conversion-optimized website.
